Welcome to the Legislative Session!

Hello Huskies! I’m writing to you from the Davis-Williams Building in Olympia. This building hosts many different union Olympia offices in addition to the Washington Student Association’s office. This space is the headquarters for myself and the other different student lobbyists during the legislative session. We hope to see you throughout session and on our Huskies on the Hill lobby day!

WSA Overview and Recap

As I and the other students lobbyists get comfortable in our new, temporary homes, we have been learning about the legislative session through different workshops and orientations. One of the orientations that has been the most invaluable experience of the session so far, has been from the Washington Student Association, or the WSA.

The WSA is an alliance between all of the major 4-year public universities, regional universities, and some of our state’s largest community and technical colleges. While the UW’s political capital is strong, being the largest public university in Washington and a major research institution, we are stronger with the collective power of other Washington institutions.
