Capital Budget Released! … almost
The Senate Ways and Means Committee has released its proposed capital budget allocations for the 2023-2025 biennium. In total, the University of Washington system received around $256 million in new allocation funding. Here is the summary of new allocations and highlights for students.
Allocation Highlights
The ASUW Shellhouse – $3 million
The UW Intellectual House – Phase 2 – $9 million, this brings the total allocation to $12 million
UW Clean Energy Testbeds – $7.5 million
UW Center for Advanced Materials and Clean Energy Research Test Beds – $29 million, this brings the total allocation to $236.1 million

Anderson Hall Renovations – $28.9 million, this brings the total allocation to $40.6 million
UW Major Infrastructure – $14.3 million
Magnuson Health Sciences Phase II – $58 million
Chemical Sciences Modernization – $5 million
UW Seattle – Minor Works – $33.7 million
Infrastructure Renewal – $35 million
Medical Center NW – Campus Behavioral Health Renovation – $13 million
UW Tacoma Land Acquisition – $7.7 million
UW Tacoma Minor Works – $4.9 million
UW Tacoma Campus Soil Remediation – $2 million
UW Bothell Minor Works – $5.9 million
I want to emphasize that these are just proposals for the budget until the budget passes both chambers. We will continue to advocate on all of the student priorities in the capital budget until they have been passed.
